At Florida Eye Specialists and Cataract Institute we provide comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages. Our highly-trained and experienced doctors diagnose, treat and prevent conditions from myopia and hyperopia to glaucoma, cataracts and everything in between, whether you’re 2 or 102.

Primary Eye Care

Primary eye care starts with regular eye exams. They’re an invaluable tool in maintaining your eyes’ health by detecting and preventing disease because some diseases develop slowly without causing pain or vision loss. Our eye exams typically screen for diseases such as glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, which can develop without any noticeable symptoms. Early detection reduces your risk and gives you more treatment options.

We recommend a comprehensive eye exam every 1 – 3 years, depending on your age, risk of disease and overall physical condition. Children should have regular tests to ensure the proper development of their vision and prevent any interference with school. Older adults can have a higher risk for eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataracts, needing more frequent exams.

Even if your eyes are healthy, you should still have a regular eye exam to detect any problems. If you have questions about your needs and timing for an exam, give us a call. We’ll be glad to help.

At Florida Eye Specialists and Cataract Institute, we accept all major insurance plans as well as many out-of-network insurance providers. We can also help you navigate the application process with Medicare. Depending on your plan, you may be responsible for co-payments, co-insurance or deductibles. If your plan is not currently accepted or you do not have a plan, we accept credit cards, have available financing and affordable self-pay rates.
