Dr. Jonathan Mines is a board-certified ophthalmologist with specialized training in the medical and surgical treatment of retinal and vitreous diseases. He provides expert care for patients with macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusions, retinal tears and detachments, and other complex retinal conditions.

Dr. Mines earned both his undergraduate degree and medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, followed by a fellowship in Retina and Vitreous Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta. During his fellowship, he trained in advanced surgical techniques and the latest imaging technologies used in retinal care.

He is dedicated to providing personalized, evidence-based treatment to help patients preserve and restore their vision. Dr. Mines remains committed to ongoing advancements in retinal care and regularly integrates new innovations into his practice.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Mines volunteers with the Good Samaritan Health Clinic and is involved with the Pinellas County Lighthouse for the Visually Impaired, helping to improve access to vision care in the community.

Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Mines enjoys writing, fishing, landscaping, tennis, water sports, golf, traveling, and reading.
