Florida Eye Specialists and Cataract Institute has an office right in town where you’ll find full-service eye care that includes General and Pediatric Ophthalmology; we treat all ages of patients, from the newborn to the elderly.

Our Location

The office of Florida Eye Specialists and Cataract Institute is located at 13106 Vail Ridge Drive, Riverview 33579. Situated off Big Bend Road, you’ll find our clinic a half mile east of Vance Vogel Park. From Hwy 301, drive east on Big Bend Road to Summerfield Crossing Boulevard. Make a left and head north to Vail Ridge Drive, on the left. We’re open Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.

Pediatric Eye Care

To prevent disease and visual disorders and maintain your child’s eye health, detection and prevention are necessary. We test all aspects of the vision of your child to ensure the healthiest vision. Your child will have a Comprehensive Eye Exam.

Eye Muscle Surgery

This includes treatment for the following:

• Strabismus
• Nystagmus

Strabismus results when there is a failure of the two eyes to maintain proper alignment and work together as a team. One eye looks at the object, while the other is misaligned inward or outward.
Nystagmus, in most cases, causes the eyes to look involuntarily from side to side in a rapid, swinging motion rather than remaining fixed on a person or object.

Laser Cataract Surgery

Cataracts are diagnosed through various tests as well as dilated eye exams. We may employ tonometry and other diagnostic measures to ensure an accurate and precise lens placement. We are able to determine your candidacy for laser cataract surgery and predict any problems that may hinder a successful outcome. Cataract surgery replaces the natural lens of the eye with an artificial lens referred to as an IOL or intraocular lens. LASIK is performed separately for each eye and each procedure takes about five minutes. Both eyes are typically performed on the same day.
